My son's girlfriend's cousin, who is 12, went to an open air market type place and was sold one lone chick. A kid. By himself. One chick. All that aside (grr), we ended up with the chick because this kid isn't even allowed to keep chickens at his house!

My question is though, what kind of chick did we get? And any guesses on boy or girl? I'm not sure on age, but guessing 8-10 days.

I so hope you all are right. We love this chick! She is super friendly and follows my daughter everywhere. It's bedtime here and that poor chick is sad about it. She is alone right now but will be with our new hatchlings as soon as they are strong enough/big enough to handle the age difference.
