What kind of chick looks like a chipmunk??

When I got my chicks on Saturday at the hardware store- the guy selling them threw in an extra chick--- the little one looks like a chipmunk! I know I have seen other pics on here but now I can't seem to find them. and ideas?

Any duckwing or partridge colored chicken can look like a chipmunk at young age. Yours is pretty small, it may be an Old English Game Bantam, or it may be an Easter Egger. It is too light and striking to be a Welsummer or Leghorn though.

Lots of chicks look like that. The gene that produces it is called the "wild type" gene.

easter eggers, brown leghorns, welsummers, etc.

I have 2 brown leghorns that look like that you will have to wait until she gets her big girl feathers in to see what she is.

Thank you Pips and Peeps for clarifying what I was trying to say. I know that as an EE is not a true breed , u never know what u get but that the "chipmunk"look is very common with them.Ilia just because u are a breeder does not give u the right to be so critical of others.

It is probably an EE I have 1 EE in there I know. I don't think he had any brown leghorns or others that were mentioned there. He did have some bantys though...and it is pretty small so who knows? lol

Yeah they are only about 4 days old.
