What kind of clothes/shoe do you wear when you're in the coop and run?

I'm just wondering...I've been wearing the little soffee cheerleading shorts a lot lately (it's so hot!) and I've been getting eaten up by chiggers or something - even if I'm not even in the coop/run...just sitting outside the run watching the birds.

So, today I made sure to wear jeans and spray myself down with off. I wore a pair of old tennis shoes that I used to use to mow the grass...and now I guess they'll be my chicken coop/pen shoes.

I just know I don't want to track chicken poo into the house.

Do you wear gloves when cleaning out the coop/run? If so, what kind....will those playtex kind for washing dishes work? Or what about disposable gloves like from Dr. office?

I wear work gloves when cleaning the coop, as well as a dust mask. I wear normal clothes in the run or coop to gather eggs or feed the girls; grubbies for cleaning. I have a pair of dickies clogs, similar to crocs, that I wear to tend animals. I have a pair of boots to wear when it's yucky and I want my feet and legs to stay clean and dry.

I wear a fiitted dress with pearls and high heels, black patent leather clasp purse, hair coiffed just so, just in case...

Or, if I'm awake, I wear a t-shirt and shorts, and my 'date shoes', the ones that used to be nice till I wore them in the yard and stepped on several overripe dates that have since cemented on there despite the passing of 4 years time.

I wear those cheap Wally World crocs that I keep on my porch to work or even go into the coop. Easy to slip on and off. Rubber barn boots in the cooler weather. mask when shoveling out the litter twice a year.

We have chiggers here really bad. If I so much as walk across the yard to pick something up, I spray down my shoes and ankles, regardless of what I'm wearing.
I have special crock type shoes that I wear out there. They can be slipped off outside the door if they're poopy. No 'special' clothes, just old ones!
