What kind of clothes/shoe do you wear when you're in the coop and run?

Whatever it is that I am wearing at the time I need to go in......flip flops or high heels...makes no difference to me

I wear work out attire since I am usually either finishing up or will begin working out. I always wear the same rubber boots summer or winter. The combination looks ridiculous. Often the pine shavings work down in my boots which is uncomfortable but I want a boot that can get wet as the dew is heavy in the morning and I am often spilling water on them.

I have a bad habit of coming home from work and going straight to the coop so whatever I wore to work (casual dressy) with a pair of slides. They do like my toes but they don't peck too hard. If I wasn't at work then it's shorts and slides. If it's rainy then I wear my barn boots that I use for camping also. I have more of a problem with shorts than slides. They like to sit on my legs and their toes are sharp!! Then the shoes get hosed off and set by the back door on my way in.

Edited for spelling.

The DS and I have designated "Chicken Shoes" to prevent tracking "stuff" into the house. They are psuedo-crocs in good weather and rubber boots in bad. Both can get wet and hose off nicely.

You may laugh, but designated clothing for chicken chores can prevent divorce!

Seriously, though, I live in an old farmhouse that has what is known as a "mud room." My outside clothes and shoes live there. I actually have 7 levels of clothing:
1) VERY Dressy
2) Business Suits
3) Business casual
4) Go to the store clothes
5) Hang around and clean the house clothes
6) Quick feeding of animals (doesn't involve mucking out)
7) Grubby mucking out pens, stalls, mowing the lawn, picking weeds, etc. clothes

My mom has been buying me $3 sneakers at the clothes recycle store that she donates her time to. Many of them have never been worn.

It's RRREEEAAALLLLYY easy--just save your old stuff that has rips and stains,

for taking care of your birds. Then, you'll NEVER cry over your good stuff getting ruined.

You mean people wear shoes INSIDE their home? I will chop your feetsies off if I catch you wearing any shoes in my house

I have 3 kids and a DH who can get very dirty so they have to remove any dirty clothes or shoes before coming in. I am just one step away from being a nudist anyways So....yes, very interesting. LOL ----but very clean

Oohh you mean the things you wear in the coop! I thought those were called flip flops?
I too don't wear shoes in the house....... ok I just don't wear shoes..... I might start though, we have broilers in a tractor that we haul all over the yard, I keep telling everyone not to walk behind the tractor because the chickens left their tracks.
