C9B2546D-74F3-4FE7-A88B-C5BB82FB8DB8.jpeg I went to a small farm and was told I had purchased cayuga ducklings(which is what I wanted) but these are not all black like most i’ve seen online. Was I lied to?

They mightve come from a cayuga but they look like mallards

My pekin hatched babies just like that and @WVduckchick told me it was the natural mallard colorings coming through due to not being pure bred, or something like that!

I figured its actually a mallard because the only pictures ive seen of cayugas are black

This is my cayuga's ducklings. I'm almost ashamed to say how much I paid for shipping. I got them from a hatchery. They are supposed to be purebred and hen's. I'm thinking one maybe a drake. Its bigger than the other two. I'm going to post better pictures next week and see if I can get help confirming it. I also believe one of my chick's maybe a roo

Sorry, they must have gotten your order mixed up, because those are definitely not Cayugas.

Actually, the pic appears like they may be blue instead of black like mallards or rouens. Maybe it’s the lighting. But my blue fawn call ducklings look like that. The grey (mallard equivalent) are much darker.

They are yellow with a more light brown/light gray coloring. I’m trying to figure out if they are mallard or rouen but its hard

Mallards and rouens, one has 2 eye stripes, the other only has one, but I always confuse which one is which. :D
