I will try to remember that now. Since my calls are “mallard” like, I think I can relate it and not forget.

However. . I've kind of quit telling people that. There was a thread here while back where someone had a pair of mallards hatch some littles and some of them had 2 eye stripes
The parents were definitely mallards.
But perhaps the domesticated ones are a little different than wild ones.

View attachment 1830173 I went to a small farm and was told I had purchased cayuga ducklings(which is what I wanted) but these are not all black like most i’ve seen online. Was I lied to?

I would guess Rouen. . but it could just be a barnyard mix.
My Rouen/Cayuga cross hatched looking like the Cayuga not the Rouen with only a subtle difference. But you never know what colors can crop up.
