What Kind of feed do you buy???

Seems like you are paying for the pretty label with Purina. I get southern states, same protein etc. I am trying to find a mill right now to cut costs as well. I have to admit, the Purina really appeals to me more- the bag is so pretty lol, but the cost difference outweighs that. I get Southern States layer crumbles for less than 10 dollars per 50 lbs.

I have not spoken to them, but if they are sifting flour or producing any sort of white/degermed flour, they likely have wheat fines and mids and germ to sell. (It won't be balanced like store bought feed, so you'd have to watch that.)
 
We use Cascade Developer for our younger birds and Cascade Layer for our adults. it's organic and made localy here in Oregon. Our little just hatched babies are currently on Beaver chick starter as it was all the Urban Farm Store had on hand today. We also supplement all our birds with leftovers from dinner, meal worms and various other goodies.
