What kind of goats are these?

yep...I agree completely. When a goat gets parasites, they can go down hill FAST!!! Any time a goat has worms to the point that you can SEE symptoms, it is life threatening. I think it's really petty to be nit-picking exactly how Bearfoot worded his reply. Be grateful for the advise from someone who is very educated in this field and don't be so sensitive to how things are worded.

X2. There was no direct insult to anyone, just an observation. No need to be so sensitive.

I agree. That was a little harsh. I am new to goats too. I would hate to see what you would say about a picture of mine. The picture posted by Kadjain also shows a goat with
sunken in hips. Is that one sick too?????

Nope. They look pure Nigerian to me. Dwarf's and Pygmy's both come from the same lineage, the Cameroon Dwarf goat of Africa. One, the Nig. was selectively bred for dairy the other, the Pygmy for meat.
Here are two of my pure Nigerians who look a little Pygmy but are not.

i do agree with shashwat acres, those 2 posted do look like a cross, yours i can tell they are nigierians.

of course tho, every one has their own opinions. i think shashwat was just offering what she thought they looked like. i have nigis and pygmies, to me they dont look like pure nigis, just sayin

btw Kadjain, your buck is beautiful!

Yoda, what did the vet find when you took them in? The 'bulge' under the chin looks like a small beard to me, not bottlejaw, but can't really be sure from the pic, just currious what they found. They do look like nigerians, very pretty girls!

Ok first the goat does not have worms. The picture was taken by my friend who bought over her kids who were feeding the goats carrots. Second the goats are not on level ground they are on a hill and the goat is actually leaning against the corner post trying to get away from my friend and her camera. Please stop saying my goats have worms they do not and did not. Everyone is jumping over board from a picture. Please, all I wanted to know was what kind of goats they are. These goats are happy and fat as a cow right now. If they had worms they would not be fat would they? I was told they are pigmy goats and wanted to be sure.

And again my goats are not the "KIND" that has a BAD worm infestation and needs to be treated ASAP. Those that think that was polite please post your pics and I will say something like that to you and see if you liked it. I asked what kind of goats I had and got that answer without him even asking if they were wormed or ill at all.

I will never post another picture of my animals on this board again, if it isn't a picture of a chicken it will not be posted.

Sorry you were met with silly drama when only trying to identify the breed of goat. I still say they are pure Nigerian, no Pygmy.

I think you are being too sensitive. If I had an animal someone thought was sick, I would appreciate being told. I have had goats, but I am certainly not an expert in them and any advice from more experienced people is welcome. I did post a picture once of a doe I owned and someone said it looked like she had copper deficiency. I thanked them and looked into what I needed to do for the issue.

ETA: Saying it looks like one has worms isn't an insult to the quality of the goat. All goats can get worms and frankly they are all likely to at some point.

i definatly agree that if there pygmy their pygmy cross, i always think barrel when i think pygmy...those girls look more dairy than meat to me (nigi being dairy, pygmy being meat) so id say there either nigerians or a nigerian pygmy mix...but definatly not pure pygmy.
