what kind of hen is she?????????

I have Dark Cornish hens from hatchery and they are not straight DCs. They lack the dark necks and heads, DCs have black around the neck and head, even the ones with poor coloring, and the lacing isn't right either. I will say she is probably crossed with Cornish because if the tight, muscular build and the head shape and eye. I would say she is crossed with some kind of golden laced breed that got her that coloration. Perhaps the roo was a DC and the hen was golden laced ----?

Then perhaps the ones that you are seeing at TSC are some that have been crossed with a golden laced something as well

I don't see the double penciling of the feathers like should be on the DCs. That is why I say they have GL in this one.
Here are my DC hens and you can see the difference between these and the one in question on this thread.

I have no doubt that some hatchery stock is way off, but I would hope they aren't that far off.
After looking at more pics of the Barnevelder, I think who ever thought of that first has made the right call.

Well I guess since there is still debate, no one is seeing the light...and Im not sure I can turn it on for you. Not every hatchery is going to have identical stock, and even the same hatchery isn't necessarily going to hatch identical offspring every time. With the body type and build, head shape, and color pattern, I have no doubt in saying this is a hatchery quality Dark Cornish Hen.

I have no doubt in saying TRUCE!
I will need more convincing, but you don't have to accomodate. We do know this, if it isn't a pure DC, it has some in her. But the color still is bad for it.

i don't mean to be (I can't think of a word). But it is not a GLW

I agree! NOT a GLW! I don't see Barnevelder in her either, looks like hathcery Dark Cornish or Cornish mix to me.
