What Kind of Incubator do you have or prefer ?

I don't ether Kuntrygirl I would have to advertise to hatch out other peoples eggs and charge them for it to be able to pay for one of those GQF digital Incubators.
That and my wife would have me out side in the dog house or chicken coop I guess I could snuggle up to my GQF Digital Incubator for warmth

I would love to have that bator.
This is our set up. We made a bator out of a small frig, hatcher our of a small wine cooler with a glass door so we can all see them hatch. The wine cooler we call "lock down"!!

The bator fits around 48 chicken or turkey eggs and around 180 plus quail eggs.

We found the frig and wine cooler on craigslist for cheap and to convert from cold to heat was not expensive. We did put a couple different therometers in there to ensure the humidty stays accurate.
Anyone else have homemade pics of their bators?

Lyons RX-2 one the most accurate and easy to use incubators.
Used by universities and labs.
When you spend lots of $$$$$ on eggs, it makes sense.
Can handle everything from Quail to Goose.

I too am thinking about going bigger. I currently have a Brinsea 20 Eco and a Brinsea Octo DX both with auto turners. I can get 24 turkey eggs in the 20 Eco and 48 in the DX. My turkeys are only Midgets though. Next week I should be getting some Broad Breasted to hatch so I'll have to keep the size limitations in mind or I will be sitting them myself.

I've seen the same incubator and have also looked at the Sportsmans models, but I think I'm leaning towards a large Ova Easy from Brinsea. I'm still researching and may change my mind (daily), but a cabinet type is definitely in my future.

My hubby would prefer the cheaper, but I'm not afraid of getting sent to the coop. I likes it there very much.

You can get 24 eggs in the Brinsea 20??????????? WOW! I can only get 12!!! How is that possible? What am I doing wrong? Do you have a pic of how they are set in there?

Ok here goes nothing

These are some of today's eggs. Two turkey and two Wellsummer. My turkeys are Midgets.

Here is a pic of the bator. It currently only has 19 eggs in it, but as you can see I put six in each row. I think Midget eggs are smaller than other turkeys. I know my Broad breasted pets layed much bigger, but they were also a lot of double yokers. Made awesome mamoth muffins though.

I would show you a pic of the DX but it only has 5 chicken eggs currently hatching in it right now. I like to have them up and running ready to teach the turkeys everything they know. The turkeys will hatch next week. Yeah baby turkeys!

edited because my ipad likes to try to say what it thinks I mean, but really it's way off base most of the time.

Very nice recycling and a smart idea for an incubator. I would think, if you wanted to, you could fit more than just 48!

Where have you found fertile BB eggs for sale? I thought Midgets laid the largest turkey eggs? I read that somewhere on this turkey Forum !

I do the same thing, hatch a few chicks to show the turkeys the ropes, makes life simple and easy!
