Hello! I recently completed my custom, DIY garage coop which includes a pop door leading to the run. I am building the run over the next 2 weeks!
I am creating a hoop house design using pvc, rebar, netting/mesh and lumber for the frame and door.
I have read so much and am simply confused on what type of lumber to use! I am working on a budget. Redwood isn't readily available in my area. I am considering either pressure treated or pine with a protective finish. Pressure treated would be easier, since I wouldn't have to apply a finish. Though there are "green" options available for finishes, I wonder, are they are that much safer than pt wood?
What if I use regular pine with no finish? Will it rot and fall apart within 10-20 years?
Any advice from experienced chicken owners is welcome!!!

The chickens don't eat the wood.
The chemicals used to preserve wood today are no where near as toxic as the arsenicals that were used in the past.
My entire run is constructed of pressure treated lumber with the exception of the interior roof rafters.
