What kind of rooster should I breed with my buff orpington hens?

That rooster is the nicest rooster and he is so protective of his girls. The hen I got out of that cross was an excellent layer also....

Breed them to a black australorp make the best chicks every. Very lively , friendly and get a good size !!

We're still waiting for Henry to let us know what his objective is.
He could use two roosters, one Buff Orp to keep his Orp flock going and a Barred Rock which should give him sex-linked chicks making it easier to isolate cockerels early and raise them for meat.

A Barred Rock roo x Buff Orpington hens will make all barred offspring, not sex-links. If you reverse the cross, using a BO roo x BR hens, that will make sex-links.

A White Leghorn roo x Buff Orp hens will not make sex-links either. Buff Orpington hens won't make sex-links regardless of what you breed them to. You can check out Tadkerson's sticky for more info.
