What kind of turkey

Thanks!

We incubated 12 eggs, none of them show any sign of growth and today is day 10. If he's a bb, shouldn't at least some of the eggs be fertile? This turkey & chicken stuff confuses me. I have turkey eggs that aren't fertile with turkey hens who only lay in the evening, chickens that are 6 months old that haven't laid the first egg and silkies who laid 2 eggs on the way home, 1 when they got here and not a single one since.

There is no way that tom is a BB. Seriously. Listen to what I am trying to tell you. It would not only be massive, it wouldn't be able to walk at that age. At 6 months BB toms would be nearly 100lbs. I have raised them to 38+ weeks and they top 70lbs AFTER they are dressed for the table. Get past the thought it could be a BB.

You have a standard bronze tom. I do not know what you are breeding him to. I keep 2 toms. All of my eggs are fertile. Even my BigMomma who is a BB and has started laying eggs. Every egg she lays is fertile because my toms are standard size. She will soon join her mates at freezer camp. She can barely walk and is having leg issues now. She weighs over 65lbs now. I am hatching her eggs for Thanksgiving turkeys this year.

hens are same as tom, all came from the same guy from the same place he got his other 15 from (wherever that was). My own turkey is afraid of them and won't get within 100 ft of them, she prefers to stay with the chickens and has yet to lay an egg.

Crap! MissPrissy, 70 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot fathom having a 70+ pound turkey in the pasture. My blue slates are medium sized and even the toms are huge to me. 70 pounds

My turkey took 12.5 hours to roast and filled the entire oven from top to bottom. We cutom made a pan to cook it in. I also have an oven that is larger then standard size.

AussieSharon got a hen who was 30lbs dressed for her Thanksgiving dinner. And it was one of the smallest hens. I don't know if Heather (bishops) weighed her bird.

These turkeys were 28+ weeks at dressing.

I agree your tom in a standard.
