What kind of turkeys do I have?

At the feed store a couple weeks ago I thought I was getting some broad breasted whites and he was throwing in a few of the more expensive Rio Grande poults - but are these just the broad breasted bronze? Things were very confusing at the store that day and they just had them all mixed together. And darn they are hard to take pics of

I'm no expert but you may not know for sure until they are a bit older. Unfortunately BBB, Narragansett & the Rio Grande look very similar.

They look the same size a the BBW in the background. They should grow slower than the BBW from my understanding; for this reason I would be concerned they are Broad breasted bronze.

thanks, yes they are the same size as the whites so I figured.


we have lost 2 of the whites last weekend for no apparent reason and one to a broken leg that we put down.


I heard they were difficult to raise as new poults but then got hardier. We lost 2 out of 3 in the first batch at around 12 weeks and now the same with this batch of 9 we are at 6 already :-( ready to give up on turkeys!
