What Kind Of Waterer's Do You All Use For Your Adult Chickens?

Please don't take offense. I'm glad this system is working for you. The problem I had may have occured because I had an enclosed, gravity feed "bottle" filling the tube.

Well one pen has a regular screw on poultry waterer, one has an old boiler pot for a water dish, and the other has a half of a toy toolbox my son broke (I love to recycle LOL and it works great).

If you count my 5 week old hens as adults then I use the plastic one gallon white dispenser (top) with the red bottom from the brand little giant, but my chickens cracked it the other day so I am now trying to create a rig for the water...

In the mean time I am using the chick's smaller waterer from when they were little babies... I have to fill it about once a day and I have 5 chickens...

My advice is to NOT GET PLASTIC!!! unless you want your chickens to be swimming in their coop due to the fact that they put a crack in it... ugh, they annoy me sometimes...

Because we have to deal with freezing in winter, I use an electric dog bowl as shown on the page (scroll)

I unplug it in summer. It's for 12 hens and I dump it into a catch bucket once a day. Admittedly, if someone fouls it, I have to re-dump it, but I have water in the run, too, so they don't go without clean water. Not good for chicks, they might drown- I installed once my chicks were pullets at point of lay (16 weeks).
