What kind of winter do you think we'll have, and the signs of it?

we have had the leaves falling also, the spiders are building their nest low to the ground and VERY thick cobwebs. Tonight its supposed to get down in the low 50s nowIcan turn off the A/C

I also think we are going to have a bad winter, our oak trees are dropping accorns early and alot more than usual, our trees are changing fast and the leaves are already raining off of the trees. My rabbit is already getting his winter coat. and the hummingbirds have already gone. the bees, wasps, and bummblebees are busy getting the flower nectar, they usually are not this bad until Oct. So, Yes, I think it's going to be a bad LONG winter! Yek

I heard they have great BeakTU's! (OK, that was a stretch...)

...and now, back to our favorite topic, harsh winters....

I got to keep the a/c off 'til noon yesterday and so far today it's still cool and breezy (weather channel says 73 degrees) so no a/c today! Loving it after the electric bills for the past three months.

Saw the first flock of geese in late August. There is a goose refuge on a lake about 30 miles west of us where thousands of geese overwinter. Notice some nearly every evening now and that's about a month earlier than usual.

ETA: I do think we're in for a colder than normal year.

It will be the same here as it always is. Rain Rain Rain followed by maybe the hint of a snow day, then disappointment because the snow turned into rain...followed by mud drug through the house by the dogs and everyone cranky because it's still raining.

I love Oregon though, I'd never move.
