Are those bantam hens he's with? If not, then I don't think he's a bantam. He looks big. And, yes, he's very pretty!

I did some looking on feathersite.com and he looks alot like this guy:

he is a Mottled Silver Duckwing Leghorn rooster

wow, he's a mutt??? Well, I shouldn't be surprised, like I said, he was a stray rooster that just wondered up in our yard. Who knows where he came from....... So, does he have a little bantam in him you think?? (we were thinking bantam because of his tail feathers)

Well, he's having a good old time mating with the buff hens. I guess the chicks are mutts too. Oh well, as my mom says, "Mutts need homes with loving owners too".We sure love him.

He is the nicest rooster ever. If we give the chickens treats, he never eats them - he will call the hens over first - only if they don't eat the treat will he eat it. And, he is such a great protector. So gentle and so good to his hens.....

Thanks everybody. Made me laugh this AM.

Bantams are like mini chickens, there are many breeds that are large fowl that have bantam counterparts. Kind of like a poodle and a mini poodle. They look the same, but one is big and one is small.

If the gold hens in the background are Orpingtons, your roo is a standard size. He is very beautiful.
