I've got access to a new area that I walk my dog on and the grass isn't touched it's left to grow wild, right now it's about a foot and a half tall I plan on taking some scissors next time and filling a bags worth to bring home for them but what length should I chop it into so that its safe and won't cause a blocked crop?

If I was cutting and feeding grass, the shorter the better. say not longer than an inch or 20-25MM. Anyway grass is oversold as a food for chickens. While they will definitely, positively, absolutely, eat grass, they mostly like to tear the sod up looking for bugs and seeds and they don't actually eat a terribly large amount of grass. However you would never know it after viewing the damage that just one chicken, in just one small pen, can inflict on a small area of grass, in just 24 hours.
