Any idea what lives in this hole that my cat has been stalking all day?

There were no mole tunnels as far as I can tell by walking around.

My parents always told me they were snake holes so I wouldn't try to bring home any fuzzy critters to keep :gig

I've seen lots of little critters go into them, though - I've seen chipmunks go into the larger ones. I agree with @TheGoldenGirlz though! Probably something smaller, like a mouse.

I could see it being mice. Which sucks because it’s pretty close to our basement door. All three cats were stalking around that hole and a few others like it. I’ve never seen chipmunks around here. I’d rather it be then!

Chipmonks, moles, voles..most likely something furry. However..we lived in Cali a few years..and there were small holes everywhere. I once stuck a stick in to see what popped up...and a tarantula jumped out at me!!! I'v also seen snakes and lizards take up residence in varmint holes.

Ahh! Tarantula!?
I don’t harm spiders but I would run from that!!
