Went to grandson's first college baseball game. As a freshman he played shortstop and did a great job. Close game - his team won bottom of the eleventh inning.

Hyperthyroidism is treatable. She'll probably be put on methimizole, which is the same stuff that humans take for hyperthyroidism.Took my GirlChild's 11-yo + cat to the vet today. Found out she does NOT have feline leukemia as we'd previously been told. She is a sick kitty, though. Has (edited to) hyperthyroidism which has caused a heart murmur and other heart issues. Good news, we didn't have to put her down today.
Would have been devastating to GC. She is not ready for that to happen yet. We can treat her and keep her comfortable for a while longer. That made me very happy.

Thank you, I'll check to see if that's what they gave us. Whatever it is comes in a pen-looking thing that we rub on her ear. Now I'm confused as to whether she has high or low thyroid because we are supposed to wear gloves when administering this to her to make sure we don't get any on us. That sounds like something for low thyroid. Hmm. I'll check tomorrow I'm really tired right now. I'm low thyroid myself.Hyperthyroidism is treatable. Hmm... Methimizole is usually in pill form. At least it was when I had to take it.Thank you, I'll check to see if that's what they gave us. We told them if we have to pill this cat twice a day, she will "take a powder" and we won't see her for days. I remember now, it is hyper-, because one option was surgery to have her overactive thyroid gland removed. But she is over 10 years old (13?Hmm... Methimizole is usually in pill form. I have Graves' disease, and in extreme cases, they recommend irradiating or removing the thyroid. It's surprising sometimes when your cat can have the same condition and medications as you have, isn't it?We told them if we have to pill this cat twice a day, she will "take a powder" and we won't see her for days. Maintenance is her best option at this point.
