I applied to my dream job this morning and got an email this very afternoon asking me to come do a test shift soon

Got the garden tilled.

Today when I locked the chickens in the run after free ranging, they suddenly started to make a spectacular noise. A neighbour cat was locked inside. . She was probably sleeping somewhere until the chickens came home. Quit a relief it wasn’t a real predator.

I got the rest of my tomato plants in the ground. It was supposed to be 5 cherry tomatoes, but I misread one of the labels, so it's 4 cherry and one called Wisconsin Chief, which I've never grown before. Its compatriots are in a different area of the garden.

Also, I watered the dirt in the chicken run. The chickens were afraid of the watering can (they'd never seen it before), but they loved the results. I'll be doing that more often.
