What made you happy today?

I will be very happy to have maple syrup for my pancake breakfast.

Made pancakes, and found that there is mold in my maple syrup bottle:he frantically I google what to do with this? I want my maple syrup:fl

Google AI overview:
You can generally save moldy real maple syrup by scraping off the mold, boiling the syrup to at least 180°F (82°C) to kill any remaining mold and spores, and then storing it in the refrigerator or recanning it into a sterilized .

I am concern about the word "Generally", can it be saved or not? Be definitive about it, generally is vague, I can get food poisoning.

Anyhow, I will make chocolate sauce instead.

Yes, you can save it. My Bestie's family has a maple syrup farm in Vermont, so this is straight from the makers:
Gently pull the mold off the top. It should peel right up in a single layer. Dump the rest into a pan for stove-top boiling or a glass for the microwave (yes, microwaving it works!) If the old bottle is plastic, discard it and put the boiled syrup in clean glass. No need to can it.
Maple syrup, once opened, must be refrigerated, which is the first mistake most people make when storing it. The second mistake is assuming it's ruined and throwing it away. That stuff's WAY too good to toss!

Thank you! ❤️ I removed the mold, rebottled it in a glass jar and capped it. It is now in a pot of boiling water, it will be cooked 30 minutes. Yes, maple syrup is too yummy to toss away. It was my mistake, I left the bottle in the pantry after I had it last time. I will remember to refrigerated now! Thank you!

I don't know how I would pull a moldy layer off the maple syrup I buy, the opening of the jar is about the size of a dime. ☹️. I do refrigerate it and have never had it go moldy though. Good luck, Sky!
If you fridge it, it won't mold unless your electric goes out for a few days. Dang, I love maple syrup. Try it over ice cream and canned peaches!

It's awesome in oatmeal. I seldom use it any more as I've mostly gone to sugar-free syrup, but occasionally ... :drool
