If you ever go to New Zealand, make sure to visit Hobbiton and sign up for the Evening Banquet tour. There was so. much. food!

The entire experience was so worth it.

It's pretty sweet. Thick, syrupy consistency. Hard to describe.

I did! I visited Weta Studios in Wellington. That's where they did all of the special effects for the Lord of the Rings, the Avatar movies, Prince Caspian, etc. too. Did you know that the model for the castle in Prince Caspian was made at least partially from pizza boxes?

I visited a Maori village, a redwood grove (which smelled like home since I'm from northern CA), and so many things. The Hobbiton tour walks starts with a bus ride through the working farm to the movie set, then you tour the set and end up at the Green Dragon Inn. After the feast, we went to the field where the party tree was and got to look up at the stars.
