So .... Went looking for archery equipment for The Kid today and the guy who owns the store GAVE him everything he needs to get started. Including a compound bow fitted and adjusted to him, about a $200 value, plus his first lesson! Guy is also a cop. Awesome! With instructions to just bring it back if he loses interest or changes his mind. So cool!

Chickens eating mulberries. The berries are in season right now so anytime I let the flock out to free range, they make a beeline for the largest tree and stuff their faces with fallen fruit. Surprised the rooster hadn’t gone horse with all his constant tidbitting sounds. It’s adorable.

Went to the farmers market today. Haven't done that in a long time.

Another thing... the day lilies are starting to bloom. I planted some in front of our porch, and they were just buds yesterday. Nice orange flowers today.

Yesterday, I put a dust bath in the brooder for my chicks. It made me laugh to watch them run away from it. Then cautiously approach... then perch on the edge... the get in and walk around... then peck at the sand... the lie down...

And then they figured it out! Dirt was flying and they were having a great time!
