What made you happy today?

I was made happy today when my beautiful female quail, Hercules, finally allowed me to hug her. She knew she would get mealworms after, but it has still made my day.

She used to be really friendly, but was scared thoroughly by my little sister one morning and became scared of humans, including me.

She has made a major milestone in her recovery, I'm really happy she somewhat trusts me again as she is a beautiful bird and was raised by hand by me.

5 out of 5 jars of canned tomatoes sealed. So far, 24 out of 25 have sealed this year. The lone failure to seal had siphoned a tomato seed under the lid. That jar made excellent spaghetti sauce the next day, so it was not wasted.

There has been a lot of talk on the garden/preserving threads about poor quality lids, with lots of failure. I got this batch of lids from Filmore Container, excellent price, and since I've used them, only 2 FTS out of ... 60? More? I'm pleased with them.

No idea, really. I figured it had something going for it, since so many eat it. I take it that it is like corn, then?
