What made you happy today?

I watched a video of one of the ending songs of fairy tail (with the lyrics on screen) and realized that not only did I understand more of the lyrics but also recognized where the person who made the video romanjinized it a bit weird. I remember right before I started learning Japanese I was trying to figure out what each of the words meant but got nowhere (partially because I didn't understand particles) so this bit of progress makes me really happy

My in-home PT has graduated me from walker to a single cane. Except if I have to go a long distance like shopping or long hospital corridors, then the walker would be useful because of fatigue... right leg is weak, has some loss of muscle tone. But this is progress and I'm happy about it!

Also tomorrow I go to Lebanon to pick up 15 chicks and still have two broodies :yesss: (one is FIERCE, the other is ... quietly and persistently percolating).

Last night when I was helping out with trash at work I saw someone had left a headboard near our dumpster. I had been wanting a headboard for a while now and it was just what I was looking for. Right size, right color and it's padded. A coworker helped me get it home and it looks great!

Nineteen chicks, picked up yesterday from Cackle. Two broody hens. Yay!:celebrate

So, this is the Leghorn I rescued. I named her Blanche. Today was her first full day out of her little coop. I was really worried that my other 10 would gang up on her. Nope, she came out like gangbusters and told them ,"There is a new Queen in this town, and her name is Blanche" 😉 Everyone is doing great.

Thanks, Sky!
I went out to check on them today and about had a heart attack. Six chicks had found a little gap at the bottom of the door (where DH hadn't closed it tight, cough) and escaped the brooder and were running around cheeping in distress. The only solution I could think of was to open the doors wide and let the hens out, and hope they'd be able to round them all up.

And what made me happy ... is that they did! :wee And I was able to close them all back in and close up that little gap so they can't get out again. I did my best to count them, make sure all 19 were in. I think they must have been, I counted 21! :lau

Mother hen and kids are safe now.❤️

When I saw that picture of your mother hen and chicks, a smile naturally came on my face and I felt joy. Your flock makes my day❤️
