What made you happy today?

Getting all the necessary stuff done that requires leaving home. Shopping? Check. Chiropractor? Check. Bank? Check. Gas up the car? Check.

They're saying we could have a white Thanksgiving. Bring it on. I'll sit here with a cup of coffee or tea and admire it out the window.

The four hens are getting along, more or less. They peck at the newcomer from time to time and she sprints off or jumps up on a roost/feeder/nest box, but there's no pursuit or ganging up on her. It's just the first day, they may yet all settle down, I hope!

Edit: someone has cuddled up next to her on the roost. 🥰 They're on opposite sides of the hardware cloth divider but they're pressed up against each other. The divider is still in place but the two sections are open to each other so she can go around it and move over to their side of the roost if she wants to. She seems to feel safer on her own side. If she's happy, I'm happy. 😊 At least she has a warm sleep buddy for the night.

We are supposed to get rain all day Tuesday and most of Wednesday. Temps going down on Wednesday and it might snow if the precip keeps going

I made mashed potatoes out of my "Magic Potatoes"* tonight and my family loved them! So ... no more store-bought, freeze-dried, instant powdere mashed potatoes for us, I reckon. More work for me, but worth it, as these are way better for me!

*I think the recipe for these appears in my personal thread. I'll edit this with the link in a bit.

This is my thread. I'll go make sure the recipe is there. It explains how to change the simple, harmful sugars in potatoes into "resistant starch," which is much better for you, especially if you are insulin resistant or diabetic.

ETA. See Post #23 there, and more info will soon be added.
