What makes you happy?

I'm happy I was born in an age with electricity, running water, and pharmaceutical companies.

My list goes something like:
Showing & breeding animals
Sleeping
Taking a bath
Eatting
Babies in all forums
Something I can't say here

& just cuddling up in bed with my favorite rooster (R.I.P. Blackie)

& talking on the phone can go either way for me, love it or hate it.

...Lately cleaning has been my thing, Dishes, Laundry, Vacuuming all take my mind away from life & that's good enough for right now. Right now I don't have anything that makes me happy which is why I am on BYC alot though this new BYC forum has nothing on the old one.

A babies laughter
Horses rolling in the dirt
A good steak
A strangers smile
A kittens purr
The smell of fresh cut grass
The smell of cookies baking

I am happy when dh and the kids are home. It is not often that we are together. After that I think I am happy on sunny/warm days reading a good book out by the chickens.

My fiancée and I have been working on an 1800's farm house for 4 years. We don't live there yet, but sometimes we camp out there on the weekends with our dogs. We build a fire in the fireplace, cook something yummy in the fire, open up a bottle of wine and stay up late talking and daydreaming about what our lives will be like when we finally move in, what our goals are, having children, etc....our little Kitty who lives at the house will curl up in front of the fireplace with the dogs and when we finally go to sleep on our cots in front of the fire, in the house that will someday be our home.......well, it's just the best feeling ever. So exciting and full of promise.

Our hens live at the house too, and being able to be there as They settle in on their roost for the night, and being able to hear the contented little sounds they make brings me so much joy

It makes me happy that I finally got my Ameraucana babies, just hatched yesterday by my broody Leghorn. And of course, my son, my boyfriend and friends, and my parents. Sometimes in the evening when we are just hanging out, doing nothing in particular, I am overwhelmed by peace and happiness. It took a few years to get here after going through a terrible loss, but I can truely say I'm happy now.
