I would try to keep her from picking at it.I cleaned it and put some ointment on it, however it is still bleeding a little bit but she is picking at it too, which doesn’t help

Looks like maybe a predator visited and tried to eat her. Rats perhaps?what does this look like to you
Please describe or post photos of your set up. Show us where they are sleeping as it may help to discern if and what type of predator she might have interacted with or show other areas of concern. Is there overnight light in your coop or is it dark?she’s usually the one trying to sit on the others, however last night 2 of the chickens were getting on top of her.
Might have to make a cone or a reverse cone or some other sort of chicken T shirt to cover it.she is picking at it too
She is also eating and drinking like normal. She is 7 weeks. (Or at least we are hoping she is a she we aren’t sure )Looks like maybe a predator visited and tried to eat her. Rats perhaps?
Or I would look around for something she may have gotten caught on, try to find the scene of the crime essentially.
Is she acting off or in shock or traumatized at all? Is she still eating and drinking?

Welcome to BYC. Sorry your gal experienced this. Chickens usually heal up quite well and rapidly, I hope and expect she will too!![]()
She's a boy at the stated age with those red wattles and comb. Without knowing age.. I was thinking 15 ish week old pullet. She is also eating and drinking like normal. She is 7 weeks. (Or at least we are hoping she is a she we aren’t sure )
It’s dark at night for them in the house. Would you recommend us keeping a light on for them ? We generally have the kitchen light on overnight but I don’t really think it gives them that much light if any. She's a boy at the stated age with those red wattles and comb. Without knowing age.. I agree if it was inside the house the only possibility is flock mates.. do they have light at night or is it dark for them?
No, I was going to suggest keeping it dark if it wasn't in order to prevent boredom and any excess pecking. It’s dark at night for them in the house. Would you recommend us keeping a light on for them ?
Not that I have noticed. When he starts picking at it, it starts bleeding again. But that’s the only thing I have noticed leaking. Is there anything leaking from the wound after he eats or drinks? It almost looks like the crop is visible.
