Can someone explain exactly how educator badges work?

If you ask in the appropriate forum you are very likely to get good answers. If you don't feel you are getting the best answers, re-word and try again.

This is not your average internet forum. People here really do want to help out and share, and most know what they are talking about. And people are respectful and decent to a degree I never thought possible on the internet. It really is a great resource.

If there is someone in particular you want an opinion from, you can alert that person. For instance, if you really wanted sourland's advice, you can type in @sourland and that person will likely respond when able.

Knowing who knows the most on specific facets of raising chickens takes time and patience, but you usually can't go wrong with someone with an 'educator' trophy.

I think they are voted on by members, so it is pretty fool proof.

I agree with all that’s been said, and for example @JedJackson is best at sexing chickens and telling you the breed, @The Moonshiner is best at genetics.

@KikisGirls manages to say hi to every new member, @Pyxis is great with hatching dilemmas, and @sumi writes like every article.

I imagine their most be hundreds of members on BYC. Is their any search option that I can select educator trophy/badge?

Those are the people I can think of that Are legendary in their field, and are great everywhere else. There are tons that are great at everything equally, sorry if I didn’t include you.

Members can make recommendations/nominations, but staff decides who gets awarded.
