What Mug Are You Using Today?

Found it! It's more of a goblet, and based on the label it looks like it may have come from a feast? I'll have to ask him the story behind it. I have to say, I like yours more!

The emblem on that is awesome! So cool!

I think "Feast of Fantasy" was probably the theme that year. Like mine says "Legend of the Knight". 🤓

2003, huh? That doesn't feel that long ago, but I'm one of those folks who still thinks of the 1990s as last decade.
Same. 😭

NY has a Renaissance festival, too. I remember going a couple times, but nothing about it really excited me. It seemed more a commercial endeavor, with everything inside for sale, that you had to pay to get into.

I did like the jousting, and the second time I went, one of the birds of prey took off on the poor guy and still hadn't returned by the time we left! Maybe it decided to make a break for freedom.

Afternoon! It occurred to me today that my mug shots (heh) are going to seem kinda repetitive compared to some of y'all's eclectic collections on here - I certainly have a type. I do love seeing how everyone's tastes vary!

Today's mug is yet another one I purchased whilst camping. On this particular trip we were hiking along, minding our own business, when suddenly I notice prints in the rock, and a sign explaining what sort of dinosaur left the prints! What the hey? When I booked the reservation, I had no clue there were dinosaur prints on site! That was a very nice surprise, especially in the middle of a miles long hike in 100 degree weather. It put a spring in my step all the way back to our campsite.

Seriously, folks, if you go hiking, be  sure you're carrying enough water. You would not believe how many folks we've run into who only had a bottle per person on them, and miles left in the hike before hitting a reliable water source!

I feel silly for not having realized that! That makes sense. Our renfest has themed weekends instead of one theme for the season. I think it would be neat to devote energy to one theme for an entire season, but I know folks who would cry for blood if you take away their barbarian or pirate themed weekends. I was always a Christmas weekend fan, myself.

I asked my husband about the goblet, and he said it was handed out to folks as wedding favors at a wedding he attended that took place in the Michigan renfest, which I thought was interesting. I need to start asking him the back stories on more of his household items.

Well, themed weekends are pretty cool, too!

That's wild!! I wonder how much it costs to have a RenFest wedding?! Especially with that kind of wedding favor! 🤑

Yes! The stories of stuff we've collected/kept over the years can be very interesting. Sometimes the smallest things have the most significance. 🤗

Your mugs are not at all repetitive! I love hearing the stories that go with each. It makes each mug unique and interesting!

Morning morning! Today's mug infuriates me; not only do I have no idea which state park I purchased it from, but apparently I camped there at least twice because I bought a second one of these mugs, forgetting I already had one.
