My favorite custom made cup, with my favorite chicken breed. We have a friend that spends considerable time working with clay so I asked if she would make me some coffee cups. This is hands down my favorite cup. It is the rare day that I don’t use it for my morning coffee.View attachment 3934467

We have two, my wife has a different favorite cup but uses hers, the twin to this one on occasion.

This thread is making me want to get some of those chunky diner style mugs!

I asked my grandmother if I could have one of these mugs to remember her by. My grandmother started drinking coffee in order to quit cigarettes. As she put it, "I needed to replace the nasty taste of tobacco with something equally nasty." Luckily it worked, and I never knew my grandmother as a smoker. But I did know her as the woman with one of these brown mugs in her hands every morning - they matched her dinnerware, and I swear I can smell the smells if her kitchen just by looking at one of them. I don't know when she first got them, but I know they're older than me and carry decades of early morning memories within them.
