I haven’t used this mug in a long time.

I’ve been collecting all that glassware from Goodwills and Dollar Tree because I’m converting all my African Violets to wick watering.

Here is how the plant stand used to be:

And here is after the first wave of putting them on the new glassware:

I ran out of jars the first day, so yesterday I ran out and bought all the ones by the coffee pot. I need to do the rest so I can have my counter back!

This should save me a lot of time watering, because I had to check them every 3 days. Many would dry out in that time. Now the reservoirs should last for a week or more, and I will be able to see at a glance whether any of them need refilling.

Thanks! It goes in waves whether they flourish or all start dying off.

I always wick them when I go on vacation and most of them seem to like that. But that’s with communal water trays, which evaporate and slant and don’t work too well for long term. People on YouTube use these individual reservoirs and seem to have good luck, so I’ve been wanting to try it for a long time.

I will definitely post an update after a while. I wonder if BYC has an African Violet thread. Guess I will search.

You can always start a thread. I can't grow them, or orchids, but I would follow along to see other people's success.
