I actually think it was a combo of reasons... both sides have valid points. IMO

I can show you articles, pictures, and videos that talk about and some give response from actual soldiers in Afghanistan that talk about the conflict of interest when they protect the opium farms in Afghanistan. Also find a lot on youtube.

So they are saying we went so drug addicts could have cheaper drugs ? Or so the drug dealers could make more money ? Or do we not burn the fields because it's the only cash crop they have and we didn't want to piss them all off ?
There they cant grow anything else and make the same money. Maybe we should send them some GMO crops to grow.

I don't know why the CIA has high interest in the opium fields there, all I know is we have troops protecting them.

What proof do you have that the CIA as a high interest in the opium fields ? Were the troops protecting the village and their crops or only opium fields ?
At this time our troops aren't doing that job.

Yes,.. please post reliable links reguarding this...it sounds kinda crazy..
Also there may be reasons they are guarding the fields,..like to keep the bad guys from utilizing it and making a profit...

Is it just as crazy as our interest in their oil? We went to the middle east for the same reason we propose legislation to go to Uganda and it is not for humanitarian reasons.
