The reason I came up with this animation is because my neighbor who has a nice coop and run but no electricity in it or heat, wanted to borrow my brooder and order some chicks.
We live in the high country of AZ and have brrrrrr! cold winters.
I told him that sure I would loan it to him but was he prepared to have at least 5 month old chicks in the house!?
He thought about it and decided to wait until spring! [IMG]

Thank you. Makes you just want to open the window and let them in.
But it was to remind people also to be careful about timing when ordering.
I remember last year so many people posted about dead chicks coming in the mail and a lot had to do with ordering in the winter.
I know because I've had to resist the urge myself, so many time! [IMG]

You could turn that into an e-card maybe???? It would make a great Christmas/Holiday card for chicken lovers.

Adorable! I admit, I thought about it [a tiny bit] when I became an "unplanned Chic Parent" in mid October. They are 5 weeks old now. It's supposed to be in the low 70's today so am planning their first outdoor outing. I moved tem into their 'Porch digs" for the winter last week.
