What now? (((Video Added)))

Im adding that to the water. I really hope it helps...is there anything else that is "home grown" that might help?
Stick with the water and crumbles. You could also feed crickets, mealworms, cooked white rice and eggs.

we have tons of worms and slugs now that the rain has come, I bet she would do well with some of those.

They can get nasty things like histomoniasis (blackhead) from those, please don't feed them to her! Trust me, get some crickets or mealworms from a feedstore.

She seems better today, shes been on the medication for a few days. She still honks, but shes eating and running around with the other birds. She is showing much more interest in her suroundings too.

That great news,

for you!

Well she is much worse today, for no reason she suddenly went downhill. Ive been using tetracycline in the water since we last spoke.

Ive done some reading and I think she might have CRD. Im going to cull her and all her brood mates to save the rest of my flock. I cant risk it full infection. 8 birds total between the ages of 6 weeks-2 months showing symptoms.

These were my next generation breeders, I had high hopes for them. Especially my big blue rooster boy. He has been with the cornish since she was 2 weeks old and he was a hatchling. Hes huge and beautiful. But there is too much risk of contamination between him and the other birds.

I strongly suspect the guy that I bought the cornish chick from had parent birds that were the carriers. The cornish has always been raspy, but I first thought that was just the breed. Now, looking back, the times she always showed symptoms was during times of stress. Raspy chirps, unsteady, sluggish. I got her at 1 day old with 4 other chicks. The others turned out to be roos and have already been culled.

I never thought I could get an illness from chicks, but I guess they can carry it through the egg and have it when they hatch. Its the only way I can explain how she got it.

Im pretty upset. All that work, time money and effort, down the tube.

Thank you for finding that. I had not even thought of it. I will be culling the cornish on Wednesday because thats the soonest I can get in to the facility. Until then everyone will remain where they are. The fee isnt too bad, and to get answers, its worth it.
