We have five pullets (hopefully) and I noticed today that one of the Buff Orpingtons follows one of the Barred Rocks around, inseparable. This would be super cute, except whenever the Barred Rock lays down, the other one lays on top of her. It looks like she's pecking her comb, but I can't really tell because they're always in a corner. There isn't any damage to the comb at all. But this happens EVERY time. Even in the nest boxes. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

ETA: They're 18 weeks old, just started laying this week.

I know that a couple of mine are really competitive about finding the best spot on the roost or the best place to take a dust bath. One will dig the hole and then the other one will push as close to the other as possible...but that's really nothing like what you are showing. Quite interesting.

I would say your birds are passive-aggressively arguing over prime real estate. Silly birds.

Yup, mine climb on top of each other during dust bath time too. It's silly.

Awha, I wish my Buff Orpington and BR were like that; all my BO wants to do is boss everyone around. I too wanna see what other people say about your chickens.
