what on earth is this little guy?

Pictured below is a black and gray (blue?) 4 week old chick with yellow feathered legs who is feathering out to be quite interesting. He has 4 toes. In the last 2-3 days he has suddenly sprouted red feathers on his chest, and his earlobes (I'm quite sure they were not red before??) He's got a great little personality, but what is he?? A mixed breed?? No way to find out from the person I got him from. (I'm mostly sure he's a he)
I apologize for the quality of the pictures, my "smart" phone doesn't focus well on a moving bird.
Thanks in advance evrry body, you rock!
:D

Thanks, I was thinking that was a good possibility. But I'm not familiar with Cochin's or marans enough to tell if he may be mixed with one or the other.

Cochins have much heavier feathering on their shanks--so a Cochin mix will have more feathering than a Marans mix. Marans should have white skin--so pink feet instead of yellow found on a Cochin. Once they're adults, the shape of the bird will help identify also.

Where did the bird come from?

Thanks everyone! :D
Popsicle, he came from a guy who buys and hatches eggs, who keeps no chicks, "can't sex even sex linked birds" (said that himself). And he doesn't ask his egg suppliers what they are!! Told me my batch of 31 (I came for 20, and he gave me 11 for 5$!!!) Were from at least 3 different sources and came from brown, "blue" (my EEs) and a few white eggs. I only have one other with feathered legs, not as heavily as his, and it(I believe another roo) has black legs and a black beek, but pinkish skin.they may not even be related.. Haha

Heres an 8 week update on the lil fella. His comb didnt redden as early as all of the other boys, and i was wishing he was a pullet (ha!) But alas, he is still a he. The other cochin mix is however a pullet (so far!)
Hes got a nasty habit of pecking me when i reach for him or any pullet near him thay were working on. But if i cant get him brome of it, he'll be dinner in2 more months. (Since he really acts like hi intends to eat a chunk ofy hand/ arm.
Anyway: 8 week old nameless cochin mix cockerel
