what on earth will I end up with?!

I just set my first 12 eggs on the 29th of febuary and the eggs are from both barred rocks and rhode island reds (at least thats what I think they are) and the only male birds are RIR's so what kind of birds will I end up with?

If you have RIR rooster, and RIR and barred rock hens, you'll get RIR chicks and sex-link chicks. Reddish babies that can not be sexed at hatch, black chicks that are solid-headed (sex-link female) and black chicks that have a large head spot of yellow (sex-link males).

Yup, you will get red stars/red sex linsk, the freindliest, prettiest, best egg layer chicken in the world!

You will not get Red sex links with that cross.

You will get RIR's and Black sex links. Here's the different crosses you can make to get sex links.

I feel really stupid! But Black Sex Links are basically just the same as the Red type in personality and egg laying! Good luck!
