What on eath are these?

I recently put a post about my new baby mallards and the other unknown breed of white duck eggs that hasnt hatched yet, I realized that some ducklings we had found close to the same field last year could be the same breed as the eggs, (I dont have the ducks no more this is a old pic)

I thought they were mallards but now having mallards now, They look different.. more checkered.

So my question, What are these and do they lay white eggs? Thanks!!

Beyond that, I have no idea, but I don't believe I've ever seen such gorgeous markings before. Whatever they are, I want some.

it says that they form monogamous pairs! how cool...


i'd say if you keep em to a year you should find them homes as pairs due to that.

Wow! How cool is that. Do you generally release the ducks your husband finds, once they are fully grown? They are adorable, and the adults (whether white-faced, black-bellied, or purple-billed) are gorgeous.

Those are about the cutest ducklings i have EVER seen! and they're just gorgeous as adults too. how often do you guys find eggs/ducklings?...LUCKY!!
