We've got a No Soliciting sign here at work. It is clearly posted in the window on the door, you can't miss it. What makes people think it applies to everyone else, but them? I sympathize that everyone is trying to make a living right now. I understand, I'm trying to make a living here at work and when I have a spare moment, I'd rather be talking about chickens, than politely telling some guy, who's trying to act like he's my long-lost best friend, to get lost. No I don't care that you've been here before and spoke to some woman who hasn't been here for at least the two years that I have. No, I don't want to buy tamales that you are selling from a cooler in your trunk. If you made your way down the hall to my office, you'll have notice the fairly new copier/scanner/fax-thingy, no I don't want to spend several more thousand on a new one. Yes, we are one branch of a very large national corporation, but no, I will not give you corporate's information. I'm sure our CEO would not appreciate me giving out his name and direct #. Besides if you really wanted to know, you could simply look at our website. As for all you telemarketing idgits who continue to call for a company and/or individual who has not been in existence or employment for several years, I hope someone with a redialing fax machine, dials your home, very late at night!

*Rant over*

I recently started telling all the sales people that drop by my office that I will listen to them only after they pay me $100 for the first 15 minutes of my time and $50 for every 15 minutes after that, and those that call the first thing I say is that I need their CC# and expiration date before we can talk, it shuts them up real fast.

I get that problem at home a lot. Lots of J W types and Mormons. Then there are the college kids selling magazine subscriptions. I listen to them usually before I give the dog the command to scare them off

Just kidding, I never do that to the college kids... the others I do if they are persistent

I used to get so annoyed with those companies that randomly send out faxes to every number they can find, you can't TELL them to stop and they waste your paper and toner....

I'm so tired of telemarketers, I just hang up!

LOL when I don't want t speak to some one I just say (me no english speaking) and I swear they buy it, because I look like latinos

i hate the fact that we pay to have an unlisted phone number at our house and we still get people calling and wondering if we have/want to install a security system. if you are calling during the day and you get my hubby HE IS THE SECURITY SYSTEM! we do not answer questions on polls no matter what group you are calling from. i do not care that i have your credit card and you think it gives your company the right to call me at anytime to up it to a VIP or something else that is just as lame, i will be cutting up and canceling your card NOW!

just because my neighbors put up a massive amount of political signs (last election season) does not mean you can bother me to park in my PRIVATE driveway just to snap photos of it. we are on a busy road across from a highway off ramp and i will NOT be responsible for you getting hit while trying to back out into it!!! (that's why we turn around in it and highly suggest others do it too!)

while at any store if they are asking for your home number i tell them i will not give that information out regardless of what your reason is for asking for it. it is none of your business and it can still be used by the third, fourth, fifth and so party that has bought the list!

It's mostly the religious people here.
DH works overnight shift so it really annoys him. I need to get another shift worker sign put up, because the old one came down a few weeks ago - and of course "they" came and woke hubbs up and I had to put up with his grouchy butt because he didn't sleep enough.
Their answer is always "well we didn't see a sign" ---- I know for fact that no soliciting signs don't work at all, but we didn't get bothered very much when we had one that said "Night shift workers SLEEP during the day --- DO NOT KNOCK on this door!!" I'm going to make another one, but I'm gonna laminate it somehow this time, or something to make it weatherproofed.....
