Hi,

So I finally decided to get pigeons. I went to one of my local pigeons breeders and he had all of these pigeon breeds. Of course there were others, but I was not interested in them. I was interested in the white homers, the white satinettes, white owls and the white tumblers. I would get 4 pigeons ( 2 pairs). However I would like to know which is best to start out with, and a bit less messier. I would like them to be social with me too. He has a majority of pure white homers. He thinks that I should choose whichever I want though he said homer may be better. What should I do?

PS: I would get the pigeons when they are 26 days old.

If you ever want babies I would stay away from the owls, some of the beaks are too short to properly feed the squeakers.

I have blond Eurasian collard doves... they are smaller then homers.

If you plan to ever fly these birds hawks will be a problem for white birds, Tumblers, Homers, or otherwise.

My doves came feral and hand tames quickly, if you have the time that's not a problem.

I'd go with tumblers, they are great to watch in the sky
I have wolverhampton tumblers and they are fab.
they are very friendly and will all fly to my hand to feed, lovely little birds with lots of personality.
