am going with mink, you said you live by a pond/wetland? we just caught a mink and the nearest river/water source is well over a mile away. fisher tracks are about 4.5 inches in length my book says. and no a fisher rarely eats fish (that is a mink) and they live in the same habitat as marten. preferring trees not sure where welsh heard they live by streams and creeks.
From my local trapping community.
Mind you we are from Alberta so it's different here most likely.
Fisher and marten are not the same but often get confused.

weird as am told different from a friend (he runs a trap line) and catches both marten and fisher. and my trapping books tell me there in the same habitat as marten.

No martens in Massachusetts:

Fishers are much different from martens. I have recently got more into the mustiledae/weasel family and that is abundantly clear. Martens are much smaller and primarily live off of squirrels and stay in the trees almost their entire lives. Fishers are commonly found on the ground and trees and are much bigger, they are the ONLY animal that is specialized in, and specifically target and hunt and eat, porcupines.

Look like cat paws to me, but where I live we only have raccoons and occasionally badgers, so I am not exactly an expert. Are you close to other houses that would have pet cats?
