Hold a tarp completely covering yourself slowly walking up to the cage. If you lived a little closer I'd be glad to help.

I just like it and got it for my son when he gets older but that would make a good small caliber for a non gun person.

I had a skunk digging under a gate to a grow-out coop pen. I went out to try to chase it off but it just stomped it feet at me so I went in and got my gun. It was after dark. At the time we had a coop we moved around and I put up some temporary fencing for a pen which wasn't far from our bedroom window. Since the skunk was trying to intimidate me I shot it. I put a bucket over it and took care of it the next day.

No, but it did stink. Putting the bucket over it helped. It kept stomping it's feet at me facing me. I wasn't sure if it was sick or why it didn't run off.

Ma Nature armed them with a tank full of stink so that they wouldn’t need to run off, even when facing a bigger adversary...

The stomping is what they do to try and get your attention and get you to back away.... and if you don’t and keep coming they let loose the stink juice!

When I’ve shot them I’ve had them spray sometimes and other times they didn’t.

I read a story about a homeowner shooting one in the yard and it sprayed an AC air exchanger unit... and so every time they used the AC the house filled with skunk funk!
