My 8 month old gets pasty butt. What should I do to prevent this? Is she missing something in her diet? Does grit help with this? Thank you

Thank you for your reply. The poop is not runny, but hardened around the butt. Kinda like my cat with long hair. LOL. Is this the same as pasty butt? Thank you
Pasty butt is hardened. This is my 8 week old chick. I was told this is vent gleet, his poop is hardened. Pasty butt usually only occurs in young chicks.

Many things can cause "gleet". Can be bacteria, worms, coccidia, or yeast. It's usually not yeast.

Feeding layer 24/7 Some spinach, green peppers, tomatoes, meal worms, sunflower seeds, crumble, maybe every other day. Always have fresh water. Already cleaned her off, will go see if I can find the poop to get pic.
