question about breeding. my male was breeding with my female he did it about 3 times, about 10 second each. but he never did the fall over...did he breed her? how will I know? Should I try again tomorrow?
Hey guys, I got My flemish giant Doe "supposedly bred today" I'll post pics when i get settled, question is, when is her expectant due date, and what should I feed her, So far she got tall dark green/bluish grass a couple carrots, some broccoli leaves, and what type of feed is best,16% protein the girl told me, any special food that is good while pregnant?
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH
Aldo
If you try again tomorrow and your doe absolutely refuses him and grunts, then she's pregnant.![]()
okay, thanks! First time breeding rabbits, well anything in that matter haha and just making sure we are doing it right![]()
Rabbits typically run a 31 day gestation. Most of the does that I have handled have gone 32 days; I've had a few that always went 30 (so you kind of have to work with the doe to learn what her pattern is). Occasionally, a doe that is carrying a really large litter may go as few as 28 days, but babies that are born much before that are usually so premature that they don't make it. If a doe is only carrying a few babies, she may go longer. A doe that is only carrying one or two frequently will carry to day 34 or 35, but babies born that late are usually so large that they are hard to deliver, and they usually don't survive the birth process.Hey guys, I got My flemish giant Doe "supposedly bred today" I'll post pics when i get settled, question is, when is her expectant due date, and what should I feed her, So far she got tall dark green/bluish grass a couple carrots, some broccoli leaves, and what type of feed is best,16% protein the girl told me, any special food that is good while pregnant?

When a buck breeds a doe, he takes a mouthful of her shoulder hair in his mouth. He will make little thrusting movements with his pelvis. If the doe doesn't raise her back end up a little bit for him, he can't get her bred. When he breeds her, he will make one big thrust, and will often grunt or even scream, and fall over sideways, often taking the doe over with him and usually pulling the hair out from her shoulders. If she didn't rise up and if he didn't do that last bit, she is most likely not bred. However, I have had litters from pairs that I didn't think "did the deed," so if she was in with him, there is always the possibility that she is bred. Does frequently can undergo a "false pregnancy" just from being mounted by another rabbit (even another female), so just because the doe "acts" pregnant doesn't necessarily mean that she is.question about breeding. my male was breeding with my female he did it about 3 times, about 10 second each. but he never did the fall over...did he breed her? how will I know? Any rabbit, of any breed, can be nasty. The best rabbits are those that have had handling from the day they were born. A certain amount of temperament is inheritable, but there is no breed where every individual is guaranteed to behave a certain way. What would you all say is the friendliest breed of rabbit? One that doesn't mind being held. Doesn't kick to get out of your arms when hiding them or picking them up. I had been contemplating adding a third rabbit before my doe took off and was curious as to what everyone's thoughts were as to what breed they liked most when it came to human interaction with these buns.
