I would agree :( heed the advice. The bamboo is specially digested by a panda with a gut of steel. Darn it. Would have been Awesome to utilize that way! So No.

I'd think think even chopped fine it'd be difficult to digest. I'll keep chopping & burning it :th

X2, Angel. Thought we might have a reason to like bamboo. Oh, well, back to hating it. I am growing lots of thornless blackberries. I checked, I can feed to bunnies when I'm ready to prune. The leaves are good for them. You have and endless supply of that. I tried them on it and they loved it.

So I want to enter my rabbits in the fair coming up next month. But, they aren't tattooed. I'm nervous to do it myself, and the kits are kind of pricey, so maybe we could get a nearby 4-H leader to help? Does any body know if they could do that? Also, If that doesn't work out, how does everybody feel about the tattoo pens?

Buster looks great! Score! He will be happy to make you babies!

I start my bucks at 5/6 months but they are starting to hump everything by about 4 months. I just read somewhere, if you make them wait...you get bigger litters. So far my litters are 10-12 kits with virgin aged to 5 1/2- 6 months bucks and around 7-8 kits on 4-5 month olds. Seems that extra time helps here so far. Could be just my different bucks tho!
I heard that too that you will get a higher litter rate...thanks and yes the girl said she gave him a ball to play with and he was humping it so I'm sure I got a perfect breeder buck choice!

Is it a requirement they be tattooed to enter or just to try for a grand champion?

I have a similar issue, have pedigree info on some good lines we've been working on, but don't tattoo and tattoo ear tag numbers are the only thing missing. I even have numbers ready assigned to each breeder and kit on premises but for our own records (...was trying not too but may want to do it now to complete the pedigree info, ug.)

I know our 4H leader will tattoo other's bunnies for them, can't hurt to ask. In a 4H only show, you can actually use a sharpie (at least here in FL you can), but at the fair or ARBA shows they have to have a tattoo. All of my bunnies never seemed to mind their tattoos, and the skin wasn't red even just after doing it. Usually, if you want to show an sell with pedigrees, then you need the tat.

Thanks!

Thanks for information. I contacted a nearby 4-H rabbit project leader, but no response yet. If they can't, I'll go on craigslist and see if I can find a reputable rabbitry.
