That's a safe breeding for old momma and michellemire.
Old momma she's able to breed with him as long as she weights at least 3lbs. She's still growing but shell be fine with him. :) I'm breeding my 51/2 buck to my 31/2lbs doe. Beauty full big healthy baby's. :) when she's 6months old weight them again and if she's at least 3lbs and he's not over 7 you can breed them safely

Nice, lots of welders around here if I had good pics and drawings I bet they could make me one since metal is cheaper here there is so much scrap metal here. Wood on the other hand is costly. Would September be good time to mate? It gives me a few months to prepare cages and end of most hot period here. And I can keep her indoors if needed first cold season. The male did fine last winter. It gets cold but no snow or ice here. They get dusting in mountains here and go nuts. I tell them this is nothing. 40 is cold here. Actually below 60 they were coats.

Yes it's ok. Keep a heating pad handy though. And FYI the first litter has a 50% chance at surviving. It's normal to lose the first litter.

Have yet to see a heating pad here but hot water bottle yes. I would have to look around, otherwise her cage could sit in the livingroom if it gets cold by the time I mate her. Thanks for the info and now that my scale is work7ng I can monitor their weights.

The heating pads only to be used if the baby's get cold. And she's about 5-6 months old right? If your ready for baby's try breeding her. You'll need to other cages by the time the kits are 8-9 weeks old so the bucks are in one cage and does on the other cage

Quote: The only possible way to get a normal coated rabbit from 2 Rex coated rabbits would be if a rabbit spontaneously mutated a gene back to the normal form. Possible, but unlikely - especially to have it happen 3 times.

You know the two individuals personally - do neither of them have anything other than Rex-coated rabbits in their rabbitries?
