So I'm in trouble... My husband and I were at a local greenhouse getting plants and they had 2 giant Flemish .... Well now my husband wants to get giant Flemish! His exact words were " holy crap now that's a rabbit i wouldn't even need a dog"

My husband says the same thing. Our dog passed away in January (of old age) and we are not looking for another dog at this time. But when he saw the Flemish Giant, his eyeballs lit up. I've been researching them in my area lately. We'll see who shows up soon enough. Good luck with your search.

2wk old standard Rex x mini Rex baby

Same baby next to 4wk old mini Rex. The back one has been named Buddha. He's huge! Lol!

All the Holland babies are gone, (well with the exception of 1 that's going home tomorrow). Thought I was good on the downsizing of my rabbits until I woke up this morning to my mini satin doe's litter. She had 5 babies. I was really hoping she wasn't pregnant. At least they don't look like they're all chocolate in color. I have 2 that are more pink than the other three. I only have the chocolate pair so I figured breeding the two would give me all chocolates. I'm glad there seems to be a variety in there. I'm hoping I can tell what colors they are in a week or so. I'm new to mini satins and their color patterns so I don't really know too much about them.

Color is color, whatever the breed. If both parents are chocolates, that eliminates any agouti, tan and black based colors. There can be unseen dilution genes, which can give you lilacs, or something like REW lurking in the C series. You can get chocolate or lilac torts, depending on what may be hiding in the E series. So, yes, you certainly can get something other than chocolate from two chocolate parents, it's just that you start with a chocolate rather than a black base.

Good to know! It looks like at least 3 might be chocolate. The other two I'm unsure of cuz they're still pink. There is a lilac, ermine and chinchilla in the background of both parents. I think it would be cool to have a lilac tort.

Oh, man. That would make a friend of mine scream, "DON"T DO THAT!!"

The reason being that you can get all kinds of non-showable colors that leave people scratching their heads and saying, "what is that?!!" At least chocolate is a self color, which eliminates things like chocolate squirrels and tan patterned torts . . . .

Well those were all also the GG Parents. Those will get dropped off when I make these new peds and the whole thing will consist of chocolates and reds :-/ I can't wait to see what these turn out like. Although, I probably won't be keeping any. I'm not really becoming a fan of these bunnies. I'm going to stick to holland lops and lionheads. I feel bad for the Satins cuz no one holds them since they kick so much. My Hollands and lionheads and so much more cuddly and let you hold them like babies. They don't kick nearly as much and therefore get held more often.

Have a question, my mini lop doe is about to kindle in the next 2-3 days but she made her best in the bucks cage. Will I need to block her half off or will the bucks leave the baby's alone?
