Those are small does, considering that the minimum weight is 3 1/4 for a doe. Sounds like your does are true dwarfs; I wonder why they seem to only have false dwarf babies?
they dont. they are usualy half and half. but it depends on the doe and the time of year, its weird. winter time small litter=HUGE BABYS, summer time= large litters half small half HUGE.i would post pics but i dont have any uploaded to my computer yet.

Generally speaking, the more babies in the litter, the smaller they are at birth, and the slower they grow - that is true regardless of breed. True dwarf babies are marginally smaller than false dwarfs at birth; sometimes they have to do some growing before you can really tell the difference. By the time they are old enough to sell, the longer ears and faces of the false dwarfs are hard to miss.

A young doe usually has kits that are all pretty close to the same size at birth. As she ages, that can change. Also, in a really large litter, embryos that implant close together can interfere with the growth of each other's placenta, restricting the amount of nutrients to each which results in babies that are somewhat smaller at birth.

so hopefully the litters start to even out? cuz i was DQ'D with the BUCK(5 1/2LBS) and DQ'd was given to one of his 6month old does(5/6lbs)

4-h but soon ARBA shows and state shows, all vry soon, im working on my line first. theyer a little over the weight. 5lbs+ on the one bucks babys.

Nice! ARBA shows are definitely a different feel. Much more competitive. But they can be fun. I have an adult Mini Rex who weighs 5 or 6 pounds. He's big boned, and he's evil. Good luck with your line! I don't show too much anymore, considering my rabbits are getting older (4-5 years) and my best show rabbit passed away in March. :/

They definantly have a different feel!. Much more competitive, BUT, they have more experienced people and they are more fun :)

He's cute!

Thank you :) We had originally bought him as a breeding buck. But when he arrived (had him sent down by a pet transport company), I saw he had a slip penis. I am very annoyed with the person who sold him to us, as she said absolutely nothing about it at the time of sale. All she said was that she wanted to move him on. I kinda thought that was a bit strange at the time, but really should have kept persisting for better answers :( I have bred him to one of our does in the hope that we will get a true dwarf buck that doesn't carry that gene, and will most likely end up selling Chubby unfortunately.
